Starting Primary School
Children become of compulsory school age when they reach the age of five. They must start school in the term following their fifth birthday at the latest although parents of many children choose to send them earlier, starting in the September when they are 4 years old.
Admissions are managed by the Local Authority. Please visit their School Admissions page.
Our admissions policy can be found on TheForestFederation.com
Transition to secondary school
Children leaving this school normally attend Longsands Academy in nearby St Neots.
The college serves the needs of 11 to 18 year olds and transport is provided for eligible children. We have close links with the College, and our Year 6 children will get involved in all of the transition activities that they offer. Teachers from the College visit our school and teach our children, and the Year 6 children will spend time at the College in the summer term that they are in Year 6.
In recent years some of our children have also transferred to schools in Cambourne, Comberton, Cambridge and Bedford.
